Penguin Books Volumetric Scale

Penguin book distributors needed a method of checking the volume and weight of their parcels and books for freight charge purposes. Of course there are volumetric scales available off the shelf, but they are extremely expensive and Penguin could not justify this expense for their operation. We came up with a simple but accurate method of weighing the books, and measuring length, width and height with steel rules for length and width, and a digital height gauge for height. This has provided an effective solution for their dispatch department to calculate volume and weight.
